Wellington Barracks, St James Park

Location: Wellington Barracks Birdcage Walk, London SW1E 6HQ
Wellington barracks is one of our more exclusive venues. Although it is known by many for the ceremonial parades that take place every day on the large Parade square, not many have had the honour of seeing the history that lies inside.

This exquisite venue is located very close to Buckingham Palace and holds the Foot Guards Battalion on Public duties in London.

Wellington Barracks dates back to 1833 and was designed by the well know architects of that time Sir Francis Smith and Philip Hardwick. After being destroyed in WWII the guards chapel was re-built in the 1960’s and was used for Princess Diane’ s memorial service in 2007 marking the 10th Anniversary of her death.

With so much history and tradition embroiled in this venue, it’s an ideal location for those looking to hold an event with a difference. The venue has a lot to offer with the elegant rooms of the officers mess suit and the balcony overlooking the magnificent parade square, as well as the officers mess gardens which would provide a great barbeque location in the summer.

In addition to that a tour of the Guards Chapel can be arranged to make the day even more special.
